Meet Theo, Percy & Phil

Bassandbuzzes | Character Design + Worldbuilding Role: Concept Artist, Visual Developer, Photographer, Illustrator Tools: AI (Image Generation), Photoshop, Animation Tools (in progress) Origin Year: 2024 "Let’s Bee Friends" is the cover for an illustrated children’s book starring Theo, Percy and Phil: three real animals from my goat farm, "Ravenoak", reimagined as expressive, storybook characters. This piece anchors the aesthetic of Baasandbuzzes, a whimsical narrative world rooted in Ravenoak’s natural textures and personalities. The visual process began with actual photos of the goats (Percy and Theo) and Phil the donkey, combined with environmental reference shots of Ravenoak’s fields, 150 year old oaks, pond, trails and barn. These real-world assets informed the color palette, lighting, and emotional tone — grounding the storybook in place-based authenticity. The cover design also served as my jumping-off point into early animation experiments with the Baasandbuzzes characters. These explorations will blend pastoral storytelling, animal antics, and gentle moral lessons with a stylized visual identity.
